October 6, 2007 – Ongoing Joseph Havel, Twins, 2007 Laumeier Sculpture Park Museum Circle
The origin for this sculpture is two bed sheets. They were stiffened and modeled using wax, then cast in bronze. Bonded in the center with a knot, they defy gravity and logic as they stand freely and reach toward the sky. The sculpture is intentionally ambiguous, able to be viewed abstractly, literally or as metaphor for human relations. Laumeier previously presented Joseph Havel: Drinks are boiling. Iced drinks are boiling.
