Laumeier Student Ambassadors
Laumeier Sculpture Park's Student Ambassador Program provides opportunities for shared experiences, learning and collaboration that benefit students, area campuses, Laumeier and the greater St. Louis community.
- The inaugural class of Laumeier Student Ambassadors consisted of sixteen students from 10 campuses.
- Students and faculty from Lindenwood University, Maryville University, Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, Saint Louis University, St. Louis Community Colleges (Florissant Valley, Forest Park, and Meramec), University of Missouri-St. Louis, Washington University and Webster University have served as volunteer participants.
- Ambassador meetings are usually held the second Saturday of each month September through November and January through May at Laumeier Sculpture Park and on a rotating basis at participating campuses.
- The meetings will provide an opportunity for students to give feedback and develop arts programming for Laumeier, the participating campuses and the St. Louis community.
- The meetings also include presentations by Laumeier staff, local or visiting artists or special guests from other institutions or arts-related organizations.
- Students will be representing their respective schools and university students collectively. Working with fellow students, emerging and well-established artists as well as Laumeier staff provides outstanding opportunities for networking and career-advancement.
- For the last two years, the Laumeier Student Ambassadors have served as a jury and curators for the Student Art Showcase, an exhibit that features work by area college art students held in conjunction with Art Fair at Laumeier where more than 15,000 attend.

Student Art Showcase 2008
Each year, Laumeier Sculpture Park's Student Ambassadors jury, organize and present an exhibition of contemporary art by current college students at the annual Art Fair at Laumeier. This year's Art Fair will take place May 9-11, 2008. Selected artists from current participating campuses (Maryville University, Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, Saint Louis University, St. Louis Community College-Florissant Valley, University of Missouri-St. Louis, Washington University and Webster University) will showcase their work for more than 15,000 attendees.
