Jonathan Borofsky was born in Boston in 1942. Borofsky earned his B.F.A. from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh in 1964 and his M.F.A. from Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut in 1966. He has created numerous permanent and temporary public sculptures for cities around the world. Borofsky has had one-person exhibitions at places such as: the Philadelphia Museum of Art; the Whitney Museum of American Art and The Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art; the Museum Boymans-van Beuningen Rotterdam, Netherlands; and the Moderna Museet Stockholm, Sweden. He currently lives and works in Maine.
