BECOME A DOCENT

Contact Kelley McCarthy, Learning & Engagement Specialist, at 314.615.5280 or kmccarthy@laumeier.org with questions or for more information about becoming a Laumeier Docent, including application materials.

Are you interested in taking on an active role at Laumeier? Do you enjoy learning and engaging with the public? Are you seeking a rewarding volunteer experience? Consider becoming a Volunteer Docent!

Laumeier Docents provide tours of the Park and actively involve visitors of all ages in conversations about contemporary art and nature. These dedicated and vibrant volunteers reflect the local community and come from a wide range of backgrounds.

Following completion of the required eight-week training, Docents are expected to pay annual dues ($50), attend monthly meetings (SeptemberAugust) and provide at least 12 tours annually. Enrichment activities and social events for Docents are offered throughout the year.

New Docent training will be held Mondays, February 5–April 2, 9:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Laumeier Docents must be ages 18 and up. An art history or education background is not required...just an interest in learning and a high level of enthusiasm!
