PUBLIC EVENTS VOLUNTEER
A volunteer in this job is responsible for assisting with the production and presentation of the annual Art Fair at Laumeier and other events throughout the year. This volunteer job will primarily take place during the second weekend in May each year. The hours of
operation of the Art Fair determine volunteer shifts, however a shift is not longer than 4 hours in length. Volunteer assistance is needed a 7 different locations within the Art Fair grounds. Volunteers participating at the Art Fair will have the opportunity to assist with
other public events during the year. Volunteers under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult.


DOCENT
Laumeier docents are trained volunteers who provide guided tours and a variety of educational services for Laumeier Sculpture Park visitors. The purpose of the docent program at Laumeier Sculpture Park is to recruit, train, educate, and encourage interested volunteers to provide guided tours and a variety of educational services for tour groups of all ages. [Ages 18 +]



EDUCATION OFFICE ASSISTANT
A volunteer in this job class is responsible for assisting with varied tasks in the efficient functioning of the Education Center. This individual must be interested in performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks that are critical to the operation of the Education Center offices. This will be under the direction of the Curator of Education and/or the Curator of Interpretation. [Ages 16 +]

 

EDUCATION PROGRAM ASSISTANT
Volunteers in this job class are responsible for a wide variety of duties relating to educational programming. Volunteers assist staff in one or more of the following: planning, development, administration and execution of educational programs and activities. [Ages 16 +]



GALLERY VOLUNTEER
A Gallery Volunteer is responsible for answering questions from the public, promoting the institution and enforcing the Gallery Rules. This position is supervised by the Museum Services Manager. Prior knowledge of Laumeier Sculpture Park is helpful but not required. [Ages 18 +]



T.A.G. TEAM (TRAILS, ART SITES AND GARDENING)
GARDENER

A volunteer in this job is involved in planting and maintaining landscaped areas and flower beds in Laumeier Sculpture Park. These garden areas consist of sculpture installations: American Heartland Garden and Hortus Obscurus; and flower beds around the Laumeier Sculpture Park buildings. Work is performed under the supervision of the Park Maintenance Supervisor. [Ages 16 +]



T.A.G. TEAM (TRAILS, ART SITES AND GARDENING)
TRAILS AND ART SITES

A volunteer in this job is responsible for performing trail maintenance and maintaining areas to be used for potential sculpture installation sites. Work involves moderate physical exertion, occasional lifting, operating tools and exposure to weather. Work is performed under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor or Lead Volunteer. Volunteers under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
