Art Fair: Volunteers

Art Fair at Laumeier cannot happen without the assistance of a corps of volunteers. Bringing 150 artists and 15,000 art lovers together is no easy task, but our volunteers are the essential ingredient to our success. There are several shift times available at each area.  No experience is necessary and all information and materials will be provided.  Volunteers must be at least 16-years-old or accompanied by an adult.

As an Art Fair volunteer, you will receive a Laumeier Sculpture Park volunteer t-shirt, sponsored by Maritz. You will also receive an Art Fair poster featuring the work of local artist, Bill Kreplin; free admission to the Art Fair during the weekend; and an invitation to the Volunteer Appreciation Picnic on Thursday, May 8 where you may win a fantastic prize!  In addition, students can receive community service credits for school. Volunteer assistance is needed in a variety of areas:

Admissions Gate
Greet visitors as they arrive and distribute Art Fair programs
Provide directions to visitors
Count and record attendance 

Art Fair Store and Information Booth
Sell Art Fair merchandise

Answer questions about Laumeier
Distribute Park information
Distribute balloons
Assist with raffle ticket collection

Museum Gallery
Monitor and count gallery attendance
Answer questions about Laumeier and the exhibits
Provide Visitors Directions

Membership Booth
Answer questions about the membership program

Process new membership applications

Creation Location
Assist children with hands-on activities
Keep art supplies organized

Artist Relations
Set up artist breakfast (morning shift)
Booth-sit for artists during their breaks
Deliver lunches and bottled water to the artists

Volunteer Check-in
Check in volunteers and direct them to their assignments
Provide snacks and water to volunteers

Maintain records
