CELEBRATIING 50 YEARS OF LAUMEIER SCULPTURE PARK
In 2026, Laumeier Sculpture Park celebrates 50 years as a place where art and nature come together to spark curiosity, creativity, and connection. For five decades, visitors have explored the landscape, encountered art in new ways, and delighted in the discovery of the unexpected.
We are marking this milestone under the theme Where Wander Turns to Wonder. This theme captures the experience of moving through the Park, with feet firmly on the ground and minds open to new possibilities. A place where sculptures embrace the living landscape, nature shifts with the seasons, and even the most familiar paths continuously reveal fresh perspectives. It captures the Park’s many dualities: art and nature, museum and park, cerebral and physical, tangible and intangible, past and future.
This anniversary year honors the past, present, and future of a place that is essential to generations of St. Louisans. One of the first and largest sculpture parks in the country, Laumeier is a community gem esteemed within both the local and national cultural landscapes.
We are grateful to the St. Louis firm TOKY for helping us launch this anniversary brand and identity.
A YEAR OF WONDER: ANNIVERSARY EXHIBITIONS + PROGRAMMING
Join us for a full year of programming celebrating Laumeier's 50th anniversary, including the debut of three new outdoor commissions, the introduction of new works in the collection, and the release of a publication capturing Laumeier’s rich and evolving story. Signature events such as Art Fair, Summer Art Programs, and Laumeier After Dark will feature special anniversary elements.
The year opens with Begin Again: 50 Years and Counting, an indoor exhibition exploring five decades of artist commissions and exhibitions. On view February 7 – December 14, 2026, the exhibition features hundreds of artists and rarely seen works from our collection. It also revisits artworks from the Park’s past that have come and gone, while reflecting on Laumeier’s ongoing relationship with artists and the landscape.
