Night Out workshops provide a fun, relaxed, adults-only environment for you to try your hand at art-making. Bring your own wine; light snacks are provided. Ages 21 and up.

Mud + Merlot: Lilly Pad Dishes  

Bring your friends to Laumeier Sculpture Park for a relaxing evening with clay while mingling with other adults! Learn slab construction and explore surface textures to create an awe-inspiring lily pad dish. Learn how to construct a sturdy dish using clay slabs and shapes while referencing botanical images for inspiration. Bring your own wine (or another beverage of your choice); light snacks are provided. Pick up your finished piece the following week.

Mud + Merlot: Abstract Coil Bowls 

Roll, twist, and stack your way to a one-of-a-kind ceramic bowl alongside friends and fellow creative adults! Learn about traditional coil-building methods to shape and smooth clay into a functional and artistic vessel. Whether you prefer wild and wavy or sleek and symmetrical, your bowl will reflect your unique style. Come get your hands muddy, meet fellow makers, and leave with a beautiful handmade piece perfect for display or daily use. Bring your own wine (or another beverage of your choice); light snacks are provided. Pick up your finished piece the following week.

ON + OFF THE WHEEL

Work with clay on or off the wheel, or take turns so everyone experiences the best of both worlds! Create functional and decorative clay pieces using both hand building and wheel throwing techniques following an instructor demonstration; select from a variety of glazes to complete your piece. Possible projects include cups, bowls, vases, tiles, plates and sculptures. BYOW (bring your own wine!). Pick up your finished piece at Laumeier the following week. 8-person minimum / 16-person maximum
 

WINE + WHEEL WITH FRIENDS

Create with clay while sipping cabernet or chardonnay! Gather your friends to try your hands at the potter’s wheel in a relaxed, fun and light-hearted environment. Make wheel-thrown objects including cups, bowls or vases following an instructor demonstration; select from a variety of glazes to complete your piece. BYOW (bring your own wine!). Pick up your finished piece at Laumeier the following week. 8-person minimum / 11-person maximum
