NOW ENROLLING FOR SPRING 2026 AND FOR THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR!
LITTLE BUDS ART & NATURE PROGRAM
At Laumeier Sculpture Park, we envision a global community where curiosity, exploration, creativity, innovation, and collaboration are the catalysts for sparking vibrant exchange between artists, educators, and learners of all ages and backgrounds. The mission of our education programs is to nurture creative and innovative thinking through the exploration of art and nature.
Little Buds Art & Nature Program is a part-time program for curious young artists ages 3-6 that is offered annually from September through May. Little Buds meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon, with daily check-in from 8:30–9 a.m.
Based in the Kranzberg Education Lab, young artists experience art and nature through hands-on learning and exploration. Our curriculum includes seasonal art projects, sculpture investigation, creek adventures, hiking, music and movement, reading, special guests, field trips, and plenty of play. Small class sizes allow for a safe, open-ended early childhood education experience.
Our teaching team is comprised of experienced instructors and teaching assistants with a variety of interests, skillsets, and backgrounds. They are passionate about art and nature and believe children are capable and highly creative. Our team weaves care, collaboration, and a growth mindset into every experience.
Each month features exploration themes in three categories: art, nature, and community. The Little Buds help guide the exploration of these themes through their questions, investigations, and budding interests. Families are invited to celebrate their Little Buds’ learning and creativity throughout the year at our monthly Family Party, featuring artwork made by the Little Buds and group activities for all ages.

““I really like the atmosphere, the focus on time outdoors, hiking and the messy art projects that I don’t have the bandwidth to do at home. My Little Bud says ‘I get to see sculptures and eat snacks. I like my teachers, and we get to do fun art projects.’””
