ONGOING PROGRAMS:

MINDFUL REMINDERS

Placed throughout the Park, you will find nine Mindful Reminders that encourage you to search, pause, reflect and practice mindfulness techniques that can contribute to a positive sense of well-being. Bring awareness to your presence on earth in each unique space with both your mind and your body.

What is Mindfulness? It is the ability to be fully present, aware of where you are and what you are doing.  We are often preoccupied with thoughts and anxieties that are not actually connected to our immediate environment. Allow the natural environment and the artistic creations to impact and speak to you, and savor the experience. Practice gratitude and appreciation.

Mindful Reminders locations:

  • Paved Path near the center of the Park

  • Dan Graham, Triangular Bridge Over Water, 1990

  • Michael Heizer, Compression Line, 1968

  • Jene Highstein, Ada’s Will, 1990

  • Richard Hunt, Linked Forms, 1999

  • Alexander Liberman, The Way, 1972–80

  • Donald Lipski, Ball? Ball! Wall? Wall!, 1994

  • Mark Mennin, Cores for Laumeier, 2003

  • Trail entrance by the lower parking lot

The Mindful Reminders project was created by Laura Peroutka Greenwood, Laumeier’s Art Therapy liaison in 2022.
