Join us for a guided hike through Laumeier’s trails and creek beds as we explore the Park’s hidden fossil treasures! Led by local rockhound and mineral enthusiast Ryan Gorman, this adventurous walk takes participants off the beaten path to discover ancient seashells and crinoid fossils throughout the Park’s chert rock and limestone formations. Learn about different tools and gadgets rockhounds use to spot rare pieces of quartz or ancient marine fossils while sifting along the creek beds. You might surprise yourself when you make a discovery of your own.

Let’s rock out on Laumeier’s trails safely! Bring your curiosity and your best hiking boots! Participants without appropriate footwear will not be permitted to participate in the hike.
