Spring Migration
Bird Walk
Start your Saturday morning as migrating birds return, pass through, and fill the landscape with the song—perhaps even pausing to take in the art around them, just like we are! Learn how to spot birds by sight and sound while exploring why Laumeier’s trees and open spaces are an important stop along their journey over the Mississippi Flyover. Families and friends will experience the Park through a seasonal lens while gaining a deeper appreciation for the rhythms of nature. Dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear.
Saturday, April 18 / 9 a.m. / Free, registration required / Level 3
ART & NATURE DAYS
Art & Nature Days bring families, friends, and individuals together for hands-on art activities and engaging demonstrations. Join us as we celebrate the opening of Begin Again: Wak’a Garden, co-created by Laumeier’s 2026 Visiting Artist in Residence, Juan William Chávez and the 2026 Kranzberg Exhibition Series Artist Kiersten Torrez.
Saturday, April 18 / 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. / FREE
NIGHT OUT /
Mud + Merlot: Impressions of the Forest
Take an evening stroll at the Park and let the woods inspire your next masterpiece! We’ll begin with a short, guided walk through Laumeier’s grounds to mindfully forage fallen pine needles, catalpa leaf clippings, bark textures, and more. Head back to our indoor clay studio and learn how to incorporate these botanical treasures into a functional ceramic project. Complete your creation by adding colorful underglazes and other embellishments before leaving the studio. Bring your favorite adult beverage; light snacks provided. Pick up your finished piece the following week.
