UPCOMING CLASSES, PROGRAMS & EVENTS

CLAY & NATURE CAMP /
Ages 10-15

Experience a summer inspired by creativity and the great outdoors! Spend each session learning about the world of ceramics in our clay studio located at the Park’s Kranzberg Education Lab. This summer camp invites young artists to explore the natural world while developing their skills in wheel throwing, hand building, sculpting and glazing. Projects are designed to encourage an appreciation of art and nature in a fun studio atmosphere while embarking on guided nature hikes. Each week will focus on native plants, wildlife and ecosystems that will inspire their clay projects. Whether shaping clay, exploring the trails, or visiting the Park’s native wildflower patch, this camp nurtures curiosity, creativity and an appreciation for the environment around us!

M-F / 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. / $360 per session
Session 2: July 7-11
Session 3: July 14-18

COMMUNITY
TILE GLAZING

Last chance to contribute to Passage

Laumeier invites participants of all ages to join us for a drop-in workshop to design and paint a tile for the 2025 Visiting Artist In Residence, Renata Cassiano Alvarez's final sculpture, Passage, to be installed in Laumeier’s outdoor galleries. The finished piece, consisting of four interconnected archways that form an open-air construction, will be clad in hundreds of colorful mosaic tiles, some of which will be made by St. Louis community members.

Wednesday, July 16, 6-8 p.m.

FAMILY WORKSHOP /
Clay Creatures

Lions, tigers, and bears – oh my! Join us outdoors for a fun, creative clay workshop with other families here at the Park. Learn how to sculpt, pinch, and coil a lump of clay into a fierce lion, a flying bird or a whimsical creature from your imagination! Use textures and colors that will bring your clay creature to life. Leave your project with us to be kiln-fired and pick up your finished piece the following week.
