Mud + Merlot: Chickens in the Kitchen
Add a little charm and cluck to your countertop! Join us in the clay studio to sculpt whimsical chicken-themed kitchen companions. Participants will learn handbuilding and sculpting techniques while using colorful slips, textures, and embellishments to bring their poultry-inspired pieces to life. Bring your favorite adult beverage; light snacks provided. Pick up your finished piece the following week.

A World Frog Day Celebration in Clay!
Hop on over to Laumeier and celebrate World Frog Day with us! Work alongside local ceramic artist and amphibian enthusiast, Anne Morgan, as you learn simple sculpting and handbuilding techniques to create your very own ceramic amphibian friend for your home, office, or garden. Use colorful underglazes and playful textures while learning about the importance of frogs (and other amphibians) in our ecosystem—and how they spring to life each year with the season! Big or small, silly or realistic—your frog is up to you! Bring your creativity and be ready for a ribbiting good time.

Wheel Throwing
Learn the basics of using the potter’s wheel to make functional clay pieces and non-functional sculptures. Study the fundamental techniques of wedging, centering and raising cylindrical forms such as bowls, cups and vases. Includes an introduction to glazing. Wear old clothes, bring a towel and plan on getting messy!
