Mud + Merlot: Spoon Rests
Bring your cooking buddies to Laumeier’s clay studio for an evening of creativity and fun! Learn how to design and build a unique spoon rest that is perfect for a messy night of cooking. Throughout the evening, participants will also be invited to take turns on the wheel to create a bonus spoon rest while experimenting with colorful slips and fun spiral designs. Bring your own wine (or other beverage of your choice); light snacks provided. Pick up your finished piece the following week.

Nest Quest!
Have you ever wondered where your favorite forest critter sleeps at night? On this guided hike, we’ll slow down, look up, and explore the hidden homes tucked throughout the Park’s Art Hike Trail! Together, we’ll learn how to search for nests both high up in the trees and those hiding below our feet through respectful, curious observation. Families and friends will discover the Park from a new perspective, like true nature explorers! Dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear.

Wheel Throwing
Ages 16+
Learn the techniques of wheel throwing and glazing to make functional clay pieces and non-functional sculptures. Designed to serve both first timers and those well-experienced in wheel throwing, this class allows for one-on-one instruction in a laid-back environment. Class may be repeated.
