CLAY CLASSES /
Wheel Throwing
Learn the basics of using the potter’s wheel to make functional clay pieces and non-functional sculptures. Study the fundamental techniques of wedging, centering and raising cylindrical forms such as bowls, cups and vases. Includes an introduction to glazing. Wear old clothes, bring a towel and plan on getting messy!

Mud + Merlot: Ceramic Travel Tumblers
Treat yourself to a creative night out at the Park as you create your very own ceramic travel tumbler—perfect for your morning coffee, tea, or cocoa on the go! We’ll guide you through the process of shaping, smoothing, and personalizing your tumbler with earthy textures and finishes in this relaxed, adults-only, workshop. Bring a friend, a beverage, and your imagination!

WALKING TOUR / Trees and the Sculptural Landscape
Spend the morning surrounded the Park’s beautiful fall foliage for an autumn hike! Learn about several types of tree species that shade Laumeier’s beautiful trails with local arborist, Michael Garrett. Discuss popular tree identification methods, such as examining bark and leaves, along with others in the Park.
