Laumeier tours are interactive and designed to engage participants in exploring the relationship between art and nature. Themed tours provide specific perspective on Laumeier’s Permanent Collection to enhance the visitor experience.

Tours are led by trained Laumeier Docents and last approximately one hour. Participants are advised to dress appropriately for the season and wear comfortable shoes for walking on uneven pathways. All tours meet in the Public Plaza outside the Adam Aronson Fine Arts Center.

School Group Tours must be reserved at least three weeks in advance and can be tailored to fit specific interests and needs. Please contact Liz Murphy, Public Programs Manager, at 314.615.5267 for more information or to schedule a School Group Tour. Maximum tour size is 150 participants.

Tours will not be offered the week of Laumeier's Annual Art Fair on Mother's Day weekend, beginning the Tuesday prior through the Tuesday following, due to Park closures and safety concerns.

Themed tours can integrate sculpture into classroom learning, and can target a specific learning style or age group. Please note any theme requests in the Questions, Special Needs or Requests field in the School Group Tour Inquiry Form below. Available themes include: Architecture; Earthworks + Site Works; Geometry + Space; Poetry in Motion; Into the Woods: Art + Nature at Laumeier; SHE Created It: Women Artists at Laumeier; To the Whirligig + Back: Laumeier History.

Extend your visit to Laumeier with a fun activity for your class following your tour of the Park! With this add-on, students will learn how to start their own gardens anywhere with seed balls made of natural ingredients and native flower seed! Includes all materials and instructions necessary to create the seed balls, plus information on where you can throw them at Laumeier! Teachers will also receive a Missouri Natives lesson plan for classroom implementation. Cost is $3 per person; add-on must be reserved at least three weeks in advance and can be booked separately from a Docent-led School Group Tour.

School group tour drop-off is located at Laumeier's North (upper) Parking Lot, adjacent to the Adam Aronson Fine Arts Center and accessible via the Park's Main Entrance. School group bus parking is located at Laumeier's South (back) Parking Lot, accessible via the Park's West Entrance, ¼-mile southwest of the intersection of Geyer and Rott Roads. School group tour buses should park on the northern side of the parking lot, avoiding handicap-accessible parking spaces.

There is no café or food service available within the Park, but school groups are welcome to bring in their own picnic lunches. The Education Shelters are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and can be used as long as they are not reserved. Please call 314.615.5271 to make Shelter reservations.
