2016 IN-RESIDENCE: MUSICIANS BARBARA HARBACH + JIM HENRY
Laumeier is pleased to announce our 2016 In-Residence: Composer Dr. Barbara Harbach and Conductor Dr. Jim Henry (pictured above), both esteemed professors at University of Missouri-St. Louis. Together with a choir composed of area singers, Drs. Harbach and Henry will use a cappella music to explore the Park’s audio and visual landscape, Laumeier’s collection of extensive monumental artworks and the wider cultural landscape of St. Louis. A selection of musical compositions will be performed on-site at Laumeier during the 2016 American Arts Experience-St. Louis.
Dr. Barbara Harbach is the Curators’ Professor of Music, Music Composition, Music History, Organ and Harpsichord at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Dr. Jim Henry is the Music Department Chair, Associate Professor of Music and Director of Choral Studies, and Director, University Singers and Vocal Point at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
